OFCCP Releases Section 503 Compliance Tool

The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has launched a checklist tool for federal contractors to check compliance with Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Section 503 is designed to ensure that individuals with disabilities have a chance to be recruited for, apply for, be hired for and excel at jobs in the federal contracting space. In 2014, the Section 503 requirements were amended by OFCCP to align with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Amendments Act of 2008.

The checklist includes yes/no questions about compliance with Section 503 requirements as well as a crosswalk showing corresponding regulation sections. The OFCCP also notes that using the checklist tool is not mandatory and that using the checklist alone does not guarantee that a contractor is compliant.
